"Dam Quartet" is a string quartet in the making, composed of members from Serbia, Portugal and Venezuela. Born out of a common passion and love for classical music, the desire that Jana Vukicevik, José Cardoso Lopes Simões, Joao Gonçalves and Wilker Paredes share is to use their many years of experience in playing to present and bring to the audience the works of Borodin, Prokofiev, Haydn, Stravinsky and many other composers. This quartet was formed in September 2022 in Rotterdam and all members have completed their studies at Codarts University. From the very beginning of their journey, they had many successful concerts, of which the most important to mention was in De Doelen in Rotterdam, where they played at the same concert with Itamar Golan and the famous Fine Arts Quartet. They have made a tour through Serbia, Montenegro and Portugal in the Summer of 2023. They worked with many professors in the Netherlands, such as Eva Stegeman, Igor Gruppman, Pavel Fischer, Roman Spitzer... A special influence and greatest inspiration for them was Marc Danel, the first violin of the Danel Quartet, for whom they played for the first time in a masterclass in March, and since then have continued cooperation with this outstanding musician.
